Oct 26, 2019 With KeePassXC 2.5.0, we also end support for Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr, which saw its official EOL in April this year. Our AppImages are now built on Ubuntu 16.04 instead and our minimum supported Qt version was moved from 5.2 to 5.5 accordingly, allowing us to use more modern features missing in older releases of the Qt framework. How to Install KeePassXC 2.6.1 in Ubuntu: The official upstream PPA has made the packages of the password manager for Ubuntu 16.04, Ubuntu 18.04, Ubuntu 20.04, and derivatives. 1.) Open terminal either by pressing Ctrl+Alt+T on keyboard, or by searching for ‘terminal’ from system application launcher. Users can configure KeePassXC to their personal tastes with a wide variety of general and security settings that apply to the whole application. These settings are accessible from Tools → Settings or the cog wheel icon from the toolbar. Settings include: startup options, file management, entry management, user interface, language, security. This release fixes several bugs and introduces a memory wiping feature that willreduce the risk of secrets remaining in memory after a database is locked or being swapped to disk. Combined withthe existing restrictions on memory access by non-administrators, this featureincreases the security of KeePassXC.
Other notable changes are fixes to entry editing, prevention of infinite save loops, ability to open non-http url’s, and preventing data loss when opening a database withduplicated attachment binaries.

KeePassXC is a community fork of KeePassX with the goal to extend and improve it with new features and bugfixes.
On the first startup, you will need to create a database named whatever you like. Multiple databases are supported as well as multiple groupings within each database. They are easy to set up, but you can get lost in the options including expire date, icons, properties, and more. You then need to set a master password, something you won't forget or maybe have written down. Key files are also supported.
Other features include auto-type, Twofish encryption, YubiKey challenge-response, TOTP generation, CSV import, command-line interface, DEP and ASLR hardening, stand-alone password and passphrase generator, password strength meter, and more.
KeePassXC also has KeePassHTTP support for use with PassIFox in Mozilla Firefox, chromeIPass in Google Chrome or Chromium and passafari in Safari.
KeePassXC is a port of KeePassX, which in turn is a port of KeePass Password Safe.
KeePassXC is Open Source, easy to use but has a wealth of features for those who want more control over their password storage.
